@ButlerUBaseball Ends 2021 Season with 11-3 Win over Georgetown

COLLEGE PARK, Md. – The Butler baseball team ended the 2021 season on a high note by recording an 11-3 victory against Georgetown. The final three innings would tell the story as BU broke a 3-3 tie in the seventh inning. Three runs in the eighth followed by four more in the ninth would secure the team's 14th win.

Butler got on the scoreboard first with three runs in the fifth inning. Jacob Margroff and Duncan Hewitt each had RBI's to give BU the lead. Margroff doubled to right while Hewitt drew a bases loaded walk.

Georgetown pulled even in the sixth with three runs of their own. That stretch of the game was highlighted by a double down the right field line by Rosen.

Hewitt scored Dan Harwood in the seventh with a double to center. The 4-3 lead grew to 7-3 in the eighth. Brody McGrath scored the first run of that inning and Harwood would then homer to left center moving the scoreboard to 7-3.

Butler kept their foot on the gas in the ninth to score four more runs. Jonah Wichman highlighted the final inning with a two-RBI single.

Harwood, Hewitt and WIchman all had multiple RBI's to lead the BU offense. Defensively, John MacCauley would lead the charge. He threw the first five innings and struck out three. The win went to Ryan Schmit (1-0) who threw the sixth. Grant Hurn, Joe Graziano, Jon Vore and Jack Pilcher also touched the rubber for BU.
