Nearly 1,100 donors supported Butler Athletics through the Bulldogs Forever Initiative, which was established during the 2020-21 fiscal year to offset the department's budget shortfall due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"We are incredibly grateful to our generous and loyal members of the Butler Family who supported our mission and our student-athletes in this way over the past year," said Butler Vice President/Director of Athletics Barry Collier. "These donations were specifically made to sustain our department's operations in the midst of a global pandemic. Thanks to these generous Bulldogs, our student-athletes had the opportunity to compete and experience the sport they love during incredibly trying times."
 
The Bulldogs Forever Initiative supported Butler's more than 500 student-athletes as Bulldogs were able to compete, practice, travel and enjoy a season that was made possible despite the pandemic. Donations also helped to address the unexpected costs of COVID-19 testing and enhanced health and safety protocols.
 
Those who supported the Bulldogs Forever Initiative received double priority points toward access to ticket location and invitations to special events. Bulldogs Forever Initiative gifts were accepted through the end of the 2020-21 fiscal year.
 
All donors to the fund have also been invited to a special viewing of the Movie "Hoosiers" inside Hinkle Fieldhouse.
