Schrage Finalizes 2022 @ButlerUBaseball Roster

INDIANAPOLIS – Butler baseball head coach Dave Schrage finalized the 2022 baseball roster this week by adding five talented players to the program. Infielders Ryan O'Halloran and Travis Holt will join pitchers Aaron Baroaks and Brandon Haggerty on the team along with outfielder Kyle Van Liere.
 
O'Halloran was a Second Team All-Conference selection at Orange Coast College in 2021. He hit .367 in conference play to help the Pirates win the Orange Empire Conference Championship. A 6-1 infielder originally from Mississauga, Ontario, O'Halloran was an honor roll student and four-year starter at St. Martin Secondary.
 
Holt is an infielder originally from Plantation, Fla. He was a three-year starter at American Heritage High School and a four-year starter at High Point University. Holt was a two-time team captain at High Point and a two-time Big South All-Conference selection. He hit .348 in 2020 and played club ball for the Florida Burn.
 
Pitching coach Ben Norton will have a right-hander and left-hander to work with this off-season with Barokas and Haggerty joining the team. Barokas is a 6-5 righty from Redmond, Washington. He was an All-State performer at Eastlake High School before attending Bellevue JC. Haggerty is a 5-11 left-hander from Forked River, N.J. He helped York College of Pennsylvania win the MAC Commonwealth title with a 28-10 overall record. Haggerty held a 2.49 ERA in 2021, striking out 84 batters in 68.2 innings. He went 10-1 on the mound as a team captain and was tabbed MAC Commonwealth Pitcher of the Year.
 
Van Liere is a 6-2 outfielder out of Kalamazoo that recently played at Kellogg CC in the MCCAA. He hit .340 at Kellogg with 10 home runs and six triples, helping the team post a 37-13 overall record. A First Team Academic All-American, Van Liere was recognized as the Student-Athlete of the Year in the MCCAA.
