The Bulldogs sit near the middle of a congested leaderboard at the Zach Johnson Invitational. The event, which is hosted by Drake, concludes Tuesday in West Des Moines, Iowa.
Butler's Raymond Sullivan and Damon Dickey are part of a group tied for 38th after the first 36 holes. Sullivan rebounded with a two-under 69 in Monday's second round to finish at 148 (+6) for the day. Sullivan's second round included five birdies on the 6,898-yard Glen Oaks Club course.
Dickey shot rounds of 73 and 75 Monday, matching 36-hole totals with Sullivan.
The 54-hole tournament closes with a final 18 holes on Tuesday. Play is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. (Central).
Stephen Kocerha is tied for 46th after rounds of 76 and 74 Monday to card 150 (+8). He is followed closely by Weston Guili (151; +9; T-51st) and Daniel Tanaka (152; +10; T-59th). Nick Williams, playing as an individual, is at 162 (+20) and tied for 83rd.
North Dakota State has the 36-hole lead with a team score of 567 (-1). That gives the Bison a two-shot advantage over Loyola Chicago (569). Drake is third at 570.
The Bulldogs are 12th after rounds of 302 (+18) and 293 (+9). Butler's total of 595 is five strokes behind BIG EAST rival DePaul and one shot back of Creighton. Butler is only seven shots back of seventh place among the 15-team field.
Matthis Besard of Southern Illinois has the individual lead at eight-under 134 after rounds of 66 and 68.
