#10 UConn Secures 92-47 Victory at Hinkle Fieldhouse

INDIANAPOLIS – The UConn Huskies recorded a 92-47 victory over Butler on Wednesday night to remain perfect in BIG EAST action. Celena Taborn led the Bulldogs in Butler's BIG EAST home opener with 13 points and six rebounds. Emilia Sexton also hit double figures with 11 points in 30 minutes of playing time.
 
How It Happened
UConn scored the first nine points of the game and would lead BU 14-3 at the first media timeout. Butler broke up the Husky scoring spree with a 3-point play from Tenley Dowell and Zoe Jackson would go ahead to score the next four points to push the scoreboard to 17-7.
 
UConn made seven of their first 10 shots including 2-for-4 from 3-point range. They ended the opening 10 minutes on a 6-0 scoring run to take a 25-9 advantage into the second quarter.
 
Momentum stayed with the visitors as UConn scored the first 11 points of the second quarter. Christyn Williams was responsible for seven of the 11 points during that stretch. Each team mirrored their first quarter statistics which took us to a 48-19 halftime score.
 
After the half, UConn stormed out of the locker room to score nine-straight points. They won the third frame 29-12. Butler's best 10 minutes of action came in the fourth quarter. They outscored UConn 16-15 to take the final score to 92-47.
