Scouting Creighton
The Bluejays are 12-4 overall with a 7-1 mark in the BIG EAST Conference. Their only conference loss this season came at UConn on Jan. 9 (63-55). Creighton most recently defeated Seton Hall and St. John's at DJ Sokol Arena. Emma Ronsiek played a large role for CU in each victory. The sophomore forward was tabbed BIG EAST Player of the Week after scoring 27 against the Pirates and a career-high 30 in the victory over the Red Storm. Creighton also got a double-double performance from Tatum Rembao on Sunday to hold off St. John's. The senior floor general scored 10 points and dished out 12 assists. Head Coach Jim Flanery is in his 20th season on the sideline at Creighton. He has the Bluejays in second place of the BIG EAST standings.

All-Time Series vs. Creighton
Butler trails Creighton in the all-time series 10-8. The Bulldogs were victorious in the first-ever meeting during the 2013-14 season 58-52, but the Bluejays won the last meeting a year ago 88-41. The two programs have met in the conference tournament two times with CU winning each matchup.

Last Meeting vs. Creighton
Creighton had five players reach a double figure scoring total in the last meeting, leading the Bluejays to an 88-41 win at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Morgan Maly led the way with 16 points off the Bluejay bench. Butler turned the ball over 29 times resulting in 41 Creighton points.

Four Canceled Due to Covid-19
Butler has had four games canceled due to COVID-19 protocols. Wednesday night's game vs. Creighton was originally slated for Dec. 31. The conference office was also able to reschedule the Providence match-up for Feb. 16. Last year, BU had eight games moved due to COVID-19. Only three of the eight games were rescheduled.

Sexton Scoring More
Emilia Sexton has scored in double figures four times this season. She tied her career-high scoring total with 15 at Xavier and responded with 11 against UConn in Butler's last game. This is the first time in Sexton's career that she has scored 10+ points in back-to-back games. She has scored more points, pulled down more rebounds, dished out more assists, and recorded more steals after 13 games as a senior than during any other season in her BU career.

3-Point Range
Creighton shoots the ball better than any other BIG EAST team from 3-point range. The Bluejays have hit 35.8 percent of their attempts this season and trail only DePaul for the most 3-pointers made in the league this year with 145. Creighton averages 9.1 made 3-pointers per game, tops in the BIG EAST. Butler ranks sixth in the category, making 6.3 made triples per game.

Three Games In Five Days
Both Butler and Creighton will play three games over a five-day period. The Bulldogs will host DePaul and Marquette this weekend while Creighton will stay on the road for games at Georgetown and Villanova. Three of Creighton's four losses this season have been away from DJ Sokol Arena. Butler's lone win was at Hinkle Fieldhouse on Dec. 22.

Crash the Glass
Butler has recorded at least 35 rebounds in each of their last six games. Over their first seven games of the season, BU only grabbed 35+ rebounds in two contests. The 'Dawgs also have 10+ offensive rebounds in five-straight games.

Fantastic Freshmen
Five Butler freshmen have scored 481 of the 797 Bulldog points this season (60.3%). BU first-year players were limited to just 14 points vs. UConn and 17 points at Xavier. A freshman has led BU in scoring six times this year. Four freshmen regularly appear in the starting lineup for the Bulldogs. Those four players only trail Celena Taborn in points per game.

Taborn Take Over
Celena Taborn notched her first double-double as a Bulldog on Dec. 5 at Marquette with 14 points and 10 rebounds. She followed that effort with 33 points and 10 rebounds vs. Denver. Taborn has now scored in double figures seven times this season (10 games). She has 1,377 points in her collegiate career and is the first Bulldog to score 30+ in a single game since Kristen Spolyar when she scored 30 vs. Marquette on Jan. 17, 2020.

Up Next
