Nashville, Tenn. – The Butler men's tennis team picked up its first win of the spring season Saturday night with a 4-3 score over Lipscomb.
It was a full-team effort for the Bulldogs, as seven student-athletes contributed to points in the victory.
Michael Dickson and
Drew Michael at No. 2 doubles and
Patrick Joss and
Zach Trimpe at No. 3 doubles both picked up 6-3 wins to give Butler the opening point.
In singles plays,
Thomas Brennan at No. 1 (6-3, 6-2),
Alvaro Huete Vadillo at No. 2 (6-1, 6-2) and
Michael Karr at No. 6 (6-3, 6-4) picked up wins in straight sets to clinch the team win for the Bulldogs. Dickson, Michael and
Borja Miralles also won a set each in singles action, but were defeated in three.
Butler will next compete on Sunday, Jan. 30 in its home opener against Cleveland State at 2 p.m.
