@ButlerXCTF Teams and Five Student-Athletes Earn USTFCCCA All-Academic Honors

The U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) announced Thursday that both Butler men's and women's cross country earned 2021 All-Academic Team recognitions.

The Butler men's team has been bestowed with the distinction every season since 2014, while the women's team has earned the honor every season since at least 2010.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, teams must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, including the most recent grading period. The Butler men's team carries a cumulative 3.515 GPA, and the women's team holds a 3.642 GPA. 150 men's programs and 168 women's programs had the All-Academic Team honor this season.

Additionally, Simon Bedard and Barry Keane on the men's team and Mia Beckham, Angelina Ellis and Kami Hankins on the women's team were named 2021 NCAA Division I Cross Country All-Academic Athletes.

In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top-25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships. Only 83 male and 114 female student-athletes qualified for the recognition.
