@ButlerUMTennis Wins 5-2 over Cleveland State

INDIANAPOLIS –
The Butler men's tennis team won 5-2 over Cleveland State Sunday afternoon at the Butler Bubble for its second win of the season.

The Bulldogs (2-2) started off strong by taking the doubles point with wins at No. 2 doubles by the duo of Drew Michael and Borja Miralles (6-3) and No. 3 doubles by Patrick Joss and Zach Trimpe (6-0). Thomas Brennan and Alvaro Huete Vadillo led their opponents from Cleveland State 5-3 when the point was decided.

In singles play, Brennan won 6-0, 6-2 in the top spot of the lineup, while Michael Karr [7-6(4), 6-2] and Patrick Joss (6-0, 6-0) also won their matches in straight sets at No. 5 and No. 6 singles, respectively. Miralles led 3-0 in the first set at No. 3 singles when his opponent had to retire. Drew Michael took a set in the fourth spot, but Cleveland State's Kade Mindry won 4-6, 6-2, 6-2.

Butler will be back in action next weekend with home matches against Yale on Feb. 4 at 2 p.m., and Illinois State on Feb. 6 at 10:30 a.m.
