The Bulldog swim team was back in action on Friday, competing with IUPUI in a meet hosted by the Jaguars. Butler had 20 swimmers record 35 BIG EAST qualifying times—the most ever in a single day meet.

"We raced well today from start to finish against a competitive IUPUI team," Head Coach Maurice Stewart said. "The team energy, competitiveness, and team unity is getting stronger with each meet. I am very proud of what this team accomplished today coming off the hardest training week of the season so far."

Stewart tabbed freshman Caroline Zimner as "Swimmer of the Meet." She finished second in all three of her races and broke the school record in the 400 IM (4:30.51). Zimner also raced impressive times in the 200 Free (1:53.53) and the 500 Free (5:06.05) placing third and fourth in the all-time Butler performances for those respective races.

Sadie Brown finished right behind the record-breaking Zimner in the 400 IM earning herself the second-best finish all-time in Butler's history (4:30.51).

The 400 Medley Relay team of Alani Hightower-Bend, Brown, Kate Schilling, and Abigail Roberts placed second with a time of 3:55.57. The time just missed breaking into Butler's all-time top five.

Butler's 200 Free Relay team of Hightower-Bend, Megan VanValkenburgh, Issy Petersen, and Roberts ended in second as well (1:37.71).

Elizabeth Naylor took second in the 1000 Free and her time of 10:36.42 now ranks second in the Butler record book. Olivia McKee earned her personal best of 10:56.43 in the same event.

Butler won two events in the 100 Breast and 200 Breast. Brown took the 100 with a time of 1:08.38 and Alexa Vota won the 200 with a 2:25.92 swim. Two Bulldogs finished behind Vota in the 200 Breast to sweep the top three positions. Ava McGonigle and Brown grabbed second (2:26.92) and third (2:29.38) respectively.

The 200 Fly was highlighted by Schilling who touched the wall in third place. She finds herself in ninth on Butler's all-time performances with her time of 2:10.21. Naylor clocked in close behind in fourth (2:15.55).

The Bulldog's McKee and Hightower-Bend impressed in the 200 Back and 100 Fly. They both placed second for Butler with times of 2:08.60 and 58.02.
