@ButlerSwimming Sets Four School Records at 2022 House of Champions Meet

INDIANAPOLIS – The Bulldogs set four school records over the weekend at the 2022 House of Champions meet hosted by IUPUI. Caroline Zimner rewrote the record book with standout performances in the 400 IM and 200 Back. Kate Schilling set the school record in the 200 IM and the 200 Medley Relay record was also reset. Head Coach Maurice Stewart named Schilling the BU "Swimmer of the Meet" for her performances in the 200 IM, 200 Fly, 800 Free Relay and in the 200 Medley Relay.
 
Schilling's time of 2:02.89 in the 200 IM goes down as a new Butler record. She was also involved on the 200 Medley Relay team that set a record with a time of 1:43.83. Zimner swam 2:01.89 in the 200 Back and 4:27.93 in the 400 IM to set school records.
 
Day 2 Highlights
Schilling placed fourth in the 100 Fly with a time of 56.12. Alani Hightower-Bend also competed in the event. She placed eighth with a time of 56.65. She swam a 56.12 in prelims.
 
Zimner highlighted the 400 IM with a school record time of 4:27.93 that earned her second place. Sadie Brown also had a great time of 4:29.41 to place fifth.
 
Elizabeth Naylor led the Bulldogs in the 200 Free. She came in at 11th with a time of 1:55.01. Megan Van Valkenburgh placed 16th in the event with a time of 1:58.33. Her season-best time came in the prelims (1:56.01)
 
Emily Landwehr placed 10th for Butler in the 100 Breast (1:06.03) and the Bulldogs went back to back in the 100 Back. Gianna Leffler placed 13th (59.12) and Olivia McKee was right behind her at 14th (59.48.)
 
The 800 Free Relay team of Grace Crane (1:54.02), Landwehr (1:58.66), Naylor (1:56.80) and Schilling (1:51.20) helped BU finish fourth. Their time of 7:40.68 ranks third all-time at BU.
 
Day 3 Highlights
Grace Crane posted a time of 17:40.40 in the 1650 Free to place 10th. Cotter Welch also swam well in the event with a personal-best time 18:10.97.
 
Zimner's school record time in the 200 Back had her at fourth place in the event. Olivia McKee also broke into the top ten with a time of 2:09.45. Her personal-best time came in the prelims (2:04.95)
 
Alani Hightower-Bend came up with a season-best time in the 100 Free to finish fifth (51.49). Landwehr was just off her personal-best time in the event as well (52.54).
 
Allie Carmichael was the top dawg in the 200 Breast. She had a solid swim (2:25.26) to place sixth in the event. Alexa Vota and Ava McGonigle also had season-best times (2:25.17 / 2:28.03).
 
Schilling ended the third day of action with a personal-best time in the 200 Fly (2:04.31). She was also a member of the 400 Free Relay team that placed fifth. Hightower-Bend, Landwehr and Peterson swam with Schilling to post a time of 3:29.13.
