The 2023 Butler women's lacrosse season will open on Sunday, Feb. 12, when the Bulldogs travel to Ohio to take on Youngstown State. The home opener will take place on Saturday, Feb. 18, at Varsity Field, when Butler hosts Kent State. In all, Butler will play seven contests at home.
 
The 2023 season will be Head Coach Maggie Zentgraf's first at the helm for Butler after being hired in August of 2022. Zentgraf previously led Lake Forest, in Illinois, to an 11-4 record in the school's inaugural season in 2022. She earned Midwest Women's Lacrosse Conference (MWLC) Coach of the Year honors for her efforts.
 
Six of Butler's first seven games are away and include trips to Central Michigan, Detroit Mercy, Lindenwood, and Cincinnati. Prior to their first BIG EAST contest, the Bulldogs will host Detroit Mercy (March 25) and Eastern Michigan (March 26).
 
Butler's BIG EAST home opener is Saturday, April 1, when Xavier travels to Indianapolis. This is the inaugural season for the Musketeers' lacrosse program, and this game will be its first conference contest. BIG EAST play continues for the Bulldogs with games at Denver (April 5) and at Villanova (April 8).
 
In a brief break from conference play, Butler will host in-state foe and 2022 NCAA Tournament qualifier Notre Dame (April 10). The Bulldogs remain at home for a pair BIG EAST matchups with Marquette (April 19) and UConn (April 22) before the regular season finale at Georgetown (April 29). Four conference teams will qualify for the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament which will take place May 5-7 in Storrs, Conn.
