Ezeh Bests Records for @ButlerXCTF in GVSU Big Meet

Niki Ezeh again beat her own 60m hurdles school record, and several distance runners had strong performances for the Butler track and field teams on Friday at the GVSU Big Meet.

Ezeh posted a time of 8.46 in the prelims of the 60m hurdles before clocking in with an 8.43 mark in the finals to finish first in a field of 49 and pass her old program record 8.47 seconds in the event which was set earlier this year.

Evan Byrne won the elite 5000m men's race with a personal best time of 13:59.55. Matthew Wigelsworth ran a strong race (1:50.25) in the 800m to finish fifth in a field of 90.

Rebecca Collester had the third-best mark in the women's 200m dash in school history with a mark of 24.83 seconds. Corinna Pena (4:47.70) and Katherine Olsen (4:48.68) finished second and third respectively in the Mile race in a field of 78. The times are sixth and seventh in school history, respectively.

In the 3000m women's race, Mia Beckham placed fourth with a personal record 9:32.94 mark. Kami Hankins finished second in the 5000m in a time of 16:37.18.

Simon Bedard and Barry Keane are slated to represent the Bulldogs in the 3000m race at the David Hemery Valentine Invitational in Boston on Saturday.
