The Butler women's lacrosse team will open the 2022 season on the road against the Kent State Golden Flashes on Saturday, Feb. 12. First draw is set for 1 p.m. at Kent State.

Bulldog Bits:
• The Bulldogs return 27 players from last season, including leading scorer,
Campbell Connors
• 11 new Bulldogs joined the team this season and are a part of one of Butler's strongest recruiting classes in program history
• Eight of twelve starters from a year ago are back this season and poised to bring lots of experience to the table
• 13 of 17 players who notched a goal last season return for 2022
• Last season, the Dawgs had 188 ground balls and 95 caused turnovers

Ellie Eisenklam will bolster the Dawgs midfield this season after missing the 2021 season with an injury
•
Sarah Dickinson was the anchor on defense for the Bulldogs last season, starting in ten of twelve games
• The Bulldogs welcome two new assistant coaches this season,
Liza Oakley and
Karli Gilbert, who will bring a lot of creativity and experience to the table

Butler in 2021
Butler went 1-11 in 2021 after an arduous conference schedule that saw them face Marquette, Villanova, Denver, UConn, and Georgetown twice.

KK Callaghan and
Campbell Connors, who led the Dawgs in assists and goals in 2021, are back for another go-round. Callaghan notched 11 goals and four assists, while Connors notched 12 goals and two assists, respectively.

The Kent State Golden Flashes
The Golden Flashes are entering their second season in the Mid-American Conference (MAC) after going 5-10 (4-6 in conference) last season. The Flashes return its all-time leading goal scorer Abby Jones who tallied 38 goals last season. Jones was a First Team All-MAC selection in 2021.

The flashes also return senior Madison Rapier, who tallied 31 goals, 36 draw controls, 18 ground balls, and 13 caused turnovers last season. Her performances earned her an All-MAC Second Team selection after a career year. Jackie Wolford also returns for the Flashes after being named MAC Freshman of the Year in 2021 after registering 15 goals in their final four conference games.

Bulldogs Season Opener
Saturday's contest will serve as both the season opener for the Bulldogs and Golden Flashes. This season will be the sixth year of the women's lacrosse program.

Next up for the Dawgs
The Bulldogs will be on the road again next weekend as they travel to Granville, Ohio, to take on Denison on Saturday, Feb. 19. First draw is set for 3 p.m.
