Final Results
The Bulldogs posted a 14
th-place finish at the Sea Best Intercollegiate, which was Butler's first action of the spring.
The 54-hole event concluded Tuesday in Jacksonville, Fla. Tuesday's play included the completion of a suspended second round in addition to a final 18.
After an opening-round 335 Monday, the Bulldogs recorded back-to-back rounds of 323. Butler finished the event at 981 (+117).
Campbell won the event at 897 (+33), followed by East Carolina and USC-Upstate (tied for second at 916). Emily Hawkins of Campbell won the event at one-under 215.
The top Butler performer was
Madalin Small, who carded a 234 (+18). That was good for a tie for 20
th. Her tournament included a second-round 75 (+3).
Ally Ross, at 240 (+24) tied for 42
nd. She overcame an opening-round 86 with back-to-back 77s.
Claire Edwards (255) and
Alaina Bowie (256) finished in 78
th and in a tie for 79
th, respectively.
Katie Steinman finished with a score of 270 and in 93
rd.
The San Jose Golf and Country Club in Jacksonville, Fla., served as the host for the event. The par-72 course was set up at 5,967 yards.
The Bulldogs return to action Friday, Feb. 25 for the three-day Western Michigan Invitational, hosted by the Broncos in Phoenix.
