The Butler track and field team had two student-athletes finish first in their respective events at the Illini Classic on Friday to highlight a split-squad weekend.
Zac Stanley stood atop the podium in the long jump with a 6.89m leap, while
Elsa Rusthoven's time of 10:08.59 in the 3000m race led the pack.
A pair of Bulldogs placed high in the women's 400m dash, with
Erin Haugh (1:00.66) and
Reagan Kelly (1:02.48) coming in second and third, respectively.
Nina Hilt took third in the 60m hurdles with a time of 8.99 seconds.
Andrew Taylor (8:30.84) and
Nick Doud (8:35.30) finished second and third in the men's 3000m race.
On Saturday at the Alex Wilson Invitational hosted by Notre Dame,
Tom Pitkin posted a 47.57 mark in the 400m dash to place third in a field of 20.
Rebecca Collester also placed third in her 200m race with a time of 25.02 seconds.
The Bulldogs will head to Chicago next weekend for the BIG EAST Indoor Championships on Friday, Feb. 25 and Saturday, Feb. 26.
