BIG EAST Release
Senior
Thomas Brennan earned BIG EAST Singles Player of the Week recognition, as announced by the conference office Wednesday.
Brennan went 2-0 on the week in the top singles spot with three-set wins over Ball State's Danillo Kovacevic [6-3, 3-6, 7-6(2)] and Indiana's Carson Haskins (6-7, 6-2, 6-4).
Down a set and a break against Haskins, Brennan's comeback helped the Bulldogs beat Indiana 4-2, marking Butler's first win against Indiana since 1947. Brennan also paired up with
Alvaro Huete Vadillo to win 6-1 at No. 1 doubles to help the Bulldogs clinch the doubles point.
This is Brennan's second weekly honor from the BIG EAST after being the conference's Player of the Week as a freshman (April 17, 2019). He has yet to lose a singles match in straight sets this spring and currently holds a 6-3 record.
