Box Score Mount Pleasant, Michigan - The Butler women's lacrosse team (1-1) fell on the road at Central Michigan (1-2) on Sunday. The Dawg's comeback fell short in the end, with CMU closing it out, 16-11.
How it Happened:
The Bulldogs started off the scoring early in the game after
Campbell Connors found the back of the net nearly two minutes in off a feed from
Greer Bireley.
Gabryelle Bodine put one in for the Dawgs in the first as well. The first ended with the Dawgs trailing, 4-2.
Morgan Cox got the Dawgs going in the second, and then
Campbell Connors added her second of the game off an assist from
Lindsey Schreiber. At halftime, the Dawgs trailed, 8-4.
The Bulldog's comeback was valiant in the second half scoring seven of their eleven goals after the half.
Holly Hall scored two to start the fourth and was able to bring the Dawgs within two. Courtney Burke took over for CMU and scored three goals in the final period of play.
Regan Martinsen, Courtney Burke, and Skye Deprado were stellar for the Chippewas. The trio had eight of CMU's 16 goals. Burke scored four on the day and added one assist.
Aleigh Monroe added five saves between the pipes for the Bulldogs.
