The Red Storm are 8-15 this year with a 4-9 record in the BIG EAST. They defeated Seton Hall for their first conference win of the season, and are 2-1 in the month of February with each victory coming against Xavier. Head Coach Joe Tartamella has one of the best players in the BIG EAST on the Red Storm roster in junior Leilani Correa. The 6-0 guard from Manchester, N.J. averages 18.3 points per game. She has scored in double figures in all but two games this season and posted a season-high 35 points against DePaul in 38 minutes of playing time. Leilani is the top 3-pointer shooter on the team. She is also near the team lead in steals with 30.

All-Time Series vs. St. John's
The Red Storm lead the all-time series against Butler 12-4. Winners of four-straight, the Johnnies were able to grind out two wins against Butler last year, limiting BU to just 56 points in New York and 35 in the rematch at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler's last win over STJ came in overtime during the 2018-19 season. The 'Dawgs won 73-68 that day to complete the season sweep.

Last Meeting vs. St. John's
St. John's limited Butler to four points in the first quarter and just three in the fourth to post a 47-35 win at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Butler erased an early first half deficit to take a lead over St. John's in the third quarter, but the Johnnies would open up the fourth on a 7-0 scoring run. The Bulldogs were unable to comeback in the game by shooting just 22 percent from the field.

Home Sweet Hinkle
The Bulldogs are busy this week with three games scheduled over the span of just five days. Once those contests are complete, Butler will finish the regular season playing four of their final five games at Hinkle Fieldhouse. A year ago, Butler won two of their last three games including a huge upset at #25 DePaul in the regular season finale (86-81 at Wintrust Arena).

Indiana Roots
Butler and St. John's each have four players on the roster from the state of Indiana. Alex Richard (Avon), Ellen Ross (Fort Wayne), Abby Stoddard (Crown Point) and Sydney Jaynes (Brownstown) all decided to stay close to home to continue their athletic careers, but Sara Zabrecky (Munster), Sophia Nolan, Emma Nolan (Valparaiso) and Katie Burton (Fishers) all fled the Hoosier state to play in Queens.

Butler rolled out Taborn, Richard, Jackson, Tenley Dowell and Emilia Sexton against the Pirates. Taborn has started in 14 consecutive games. Dowell has the second longest streak on the team with seven-straight starts.

Fantastic Freshmen
