@ButlerUBaseball Comeback Falls Short at Northern Kentucky

HIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. – The Norse broke an 8-8 tie in the bottom of the seventh inning to claim a 13-8 victory over Butler on Tuesday afternoon. Aaron Steinhart shined for the Bulldogs as the team's designated hitter. The three-hole hitter went 4-for-5 at Northern Kentucky with two home runs and five RBI.

Northern Kentucky hit three home runs in the second inning to take a quick 5-0 lead over Butler. They pushed three more runs across the dish in the third to take control 8-0.

Butler found the scoreboard in the fourth with an RBI single to center. Steinhart's first home run would follow in the sixth, allowing the 'Dawgs to close the gap to 8-5. Steinhart's second round tripper came in the seventh to knot the scoreboard at 8-8.

The bottom of the seventh was the difference in the game as NKU would go ahead to score four runs on four hits. The top three hitters in the Norse lineup did a majority of the damage. Those three players combined for seven hits, eight RBI and four runs scored.

Luke Zmolik took the loss on the mound (0-1) while Noble was credited with the win (1-0).

Butler will return to action tomorrow afternoon when they host Manchester at Bulldog Park. First pitch is set at 3 PM.
