Box Score Kennesaw, Ga. - The Butler women's lacrosse team (4-2) picked up a win on the road at Kennesaw St. (4-4) Saturday, 12-11.
Campbell Connors lead the Bulldogs with a four goal performance.
How it Happened:
The Bulldogs got on the board first after
Holly Hall put one past the goalie just under two minutes into the game.
Campbell Connors found the back of the net twice in the first, and
Gabryelle Bodine also notched one for the Dawgs.
Leah Rubino assisted on Hall's goal and on Connors' second, tallying two assists in the quarter.
The Dawgs started the second in a similar fashion as the first, with
Holly Hall finding the back of the net three minutes into the quarter.
Lindsey Schreiber would score two minutes later on an unassisted effort. Twenty seconds later,
Leah Rubino took a pass from
Ella Squibb and powered it past the goalie putting the Bulldogs up, 7-2. Kennesaw St. scored four unanswered goals to close the quarter. In the first half, Siena Gore had four goals for the Owls, who trailed 7-6 at halftime.
The third quarter saw the Owls find the back of the net four times. Siena Gore tallied all four goals in the third for the Owls. Schreiber and Connors each added a goal in the third as well. Bodine assisted on Schreiber's effort and
Greer Bireley, who leads the Bulldogs in assists, added another on Connors's third goal of the game.
The Bulldogs were down one to start the fourth but were able to come back and tally three in the final period to Kennesaw State's one to grab the road victory. Rubino and Connors scored two early ones before Kennesaw St. would even things up at 11 apiece with three minutes left. Then, with two minutes and forty-two seconds left in the game,
Gabryelle Bodine found the back of the net in an unassisted effort to secure the win for the Bulldogs.
Aleigh Monroe made seven saves for the Bulldogs registering her fourth win of the season between the pipes.
Siena Gore was dominant for the Owls scoring nine goals on 14 shots in the contest.
