@ButlerUMTennis Sweeps Singles to Beat Eastern Illinois

INDIANAPOLIS –
The Butler men's tennis team swept the singles matches to win 6-1 over Eastern Illinois on Friday at the Butler Bubble.

After dropping the doubles point, the Bulldogs cruised in singles play, winning 5 of 6 matches in straight sets. Alvaro Huete Vadillo got things going with an easy 6-2, 6-0 decision at No. 2 singles.

Thomas Brennan also posted a smooth 6-3, 6-2 win in the top spot, while Michael Dickson (6-3, 6-3), Patrick Joss (6-0, 6-1) and Michael Karr (6-4, 6-3) posted straight set victories at Nos. 3, 5 and 6 singles, respectively. Joss clinched the match for Butler with his win.

Borja Miralles fought back from a set down to win 3-6, 6-5, 7-6(3) at No. 4 over EIU's Charles Courteau.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play at home on Saturday against Villanova for their second BIG EAST match of the spring.
