CARBONDALE –
Kollyn All hit a two-out, two-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give Butler an 11-10 edge over Northwestern at Itchy Jones Stadium.
Derek Drees would retire three Wildcats in the bottom half of the ninth to give the Bulldogs their 10th win of the season on Sunday night.

Butler's chances looked slim at the start of the ninth inning as Northwestern recorded two quick outs on a pop up and foul out to start the frame.
James Gargano kept BU alive with a double on a 2-2 count and All would send a ball over the wall in left on a 3-1 count. The game-winning hit was the only hit of the day for All.

Travis Holt and
Ryan O'Halloran each recorded three hits to lead the Bulldogs. BU scored their 11 runs off 11 hits and were perfect in the field with no errors.

Northwestern scored first with an RBI single in the first inning, but BU would answer with a five-run second inning.
Billy Wurch got the ball rolling with a two-RBI double and
Travis Holt added a double to give BU a 3-1 edge. The highlight of the second inning came off
Aaron Steinhart's at-bat. The junior designated hitter crushed a two-run home run to right increasing the advantage to 5-1.

The early lead was not safe as Northwestern came roaring back with six runs in the bottom half of the second. Two doubles and a homer would answer the call and give the home team a 7-5 lead.

Butler got back to their scoring ways in the third and were aggressive on the base paths.
Nick Ortega walked with the bases loaded to get BU back within one run and a throwing error would even the teams up at 7-7. Holt singled to right center to score Wurch and a double steal would get Ortega home and put Butler in front 9-7.

Northwestern's second home run would come in the fourth inning and tie the contest at 9-9. Calarco saw the ball well today going 2-for-5 from the plate with four RBI and two runs scored. The top of the Wildcat lineup all had multi-hit games and multiple RBIs, but the game would move along after the homer in the fourth with the score tied 9-9.

Business picked up in the eighth when the Wildcats took the lead on a passed ball. The 10-9 score moved into the final stages of the game with Butler down to their last out in the ninth. That's when All stepped into the box and delivered his second home run of the season to lift BU to victory.

Derek Drees kept Northwestern off the scoreboard in the ninth. He tossed 2.2 innings of ball to secure his first win of the season. The start went to
Aaron Barokas and
Lukas Galdoni would also touch the rubber to give the Bulldogs some solid innings.

BU will look to roll this momentum into their midweek game. The 'Dawgs will face the Bellarmine Knights Tuesday afternoon at 2 PM.
