The Bulldogs stand in second place after the opening day of the Butler Spring Invitational.
 
Cold temperatures pushed Monday's start time back and condensed play to a single round as opposed to the planned 36. The teams will return to action for a final 18 Tuesday.
 
Four players in Butler's line-up are among the Top 25 after the first round. There are 98 players in the field. The Bulldogs shot a six-over score of 286 Monday, putting them seven shots behind 18-hole leader Valparaiso (279, -1). Butler is four shots clear of Youngstown State and Green Bay, who are tied for third. There are a total of 12 teams in the field.
 
Raymond Sullivan led the way for Butler with a Monday 70, which is even par for the 6,551-yard Highland course. Sullivan had 16 pars to go along with a birdie on his round. He is tied for eighth.
 
Valparaiso's Anthony Delisanti and Luke Armbrust of Illinois hold the lead after rounds of 68 (-2).
 
Daniel Tanaka, carding three birdies as part of his round, shot a one-over 71 and is tied for 11^th. Damon Dickey is tied for 18^th at two-over 72. Henry Quinn is one shot behind him after an opening-round 73 (+3) and is tied for 25^th.
 
Weston Guili is tied for 38^th at four-over 74.
 
Butler's individuals are led by Nick Williams, who is part of the group tied for 18^th alongside Dickey after posting a 72. Williams had three birdies on the round. Michael Tanaka is tied for 54^th at five-over 75, one shot ahead of Daivic Akala and Jack Wilcox (76), who are tied for 67^th. Stephen Kocerha shot 78 Monday and is tied for 86^th.
 
Tuesday's shotgun start has been pushed back to 11 a.m. due to cooler temperatures in the forecast overnight. Live Scoring will be available via GolfStat.
