UCASVILLE, Conn. - All-conference guard Lauren Park-Lane scored 12 of her 21 points in the second half as No. 6 seed Seton Hall shook off a challenge from No. 11 Butler en route to a 58-39 win on Friday in the first round of the Big East Tournament at Mohegan Sun Arena.
 
Butler, which won one game during the regular season, took its only lead on a basket by Sydney James late in the second quarter. Seton Hall's Sidney Cook took advantage of a second-chance opportunity to tie the game shortly before halftime.

Cooks had 13 points and eight rebounds, Mya Bembry had 12 points and eight rebounds while Andra Espinoza-Hunter had seven points, six rebounds, five assists and four steals for Seton Hall (18-11) which advances to play third-seeded Creighton in Saturday's quarterfinals.
 
Creighton won both games against the Pirates during the regular season including a 97-91 double-overtime thriller in the last meeting on February 20.
 
Jaynes had 10 points and five rebounds for Butler (1-27).
