@ButlerWTennis Takes Down Cleveland State 4-3

INDIANAPOLIS –
The Butler women's tennis team defeated Cleveland State 4-3 on Friday afternoon at the Butler Bubble for its second straight home win.

The Bulldogs started strong, taking the doubles point thanks to wins in the top two spots of the lineup. Natalie Boesing and Delaney Schurhamer downed their opponents 6-2, before the duo of Norah Balthazor and Veronika Bruetting clinched the point with a 6-3 win at No. 2 doubles.

Boesing and Schurhamer kept the momentum going with wins at No. 1 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Boesing topped Cleveland State's Oihane Vicario in straight sets (6-2, 6-1), while Schurhamer won in three over Sima Heren (6-4, 1-6, 6-2).

Emma Beavin clinched the match for Butler with a 6-1, 6-0 victory at No. 6 singles.

The Bulldogs return to the Bubble Saturday morning for an 11 a.m. match with Valparaiso.
