@ButlerWLacrosse Hosts Home Opener vs. Detroit Mercy

The Butler women's lacrosse team will host Detroit Mercy for their home opener on Sunday, March 6. First draw is set for 2 p.m.
 
Bulldog Bits:
 
- The Bulldogs return 27 players from last season, including leading scorer, Campbell Connors
- 11 new Bulldogs joined the team this season and are a part of one of Butler's strongest recruiting classes in program history
- Kaley Attaway has seven goals and two assists through three games
- Leah Rubino has two goals, two assists, nine caused turnovers, and 15 draw controls
- Campbell Connors has five goals in three games
- Greer Bireley has one goal and six assists
- Aleigh Monroe has played 141 minutes between the pipes so far this season and is credited with 16 saves
- 11 different Bulldogs have tallied a goal this season
- Attaway had three goals and an assist against Louisville
- Julia Putzi scored her first collegiate goal against Louisville
 
Last Time Out
The Bulldogs traveled to Louisville for a mid-week matchup with the Cardinals. The Cardinals came out of the gates firing on all cylinders. After going up 8-1 at the end of the first, the Bulldogs comeback came up short in the end falling 22-8.
 
Kaley Attaway notched three goals for the Dawgs and added an assist as well tallying her second multi-goal game of the season. Leah Rubino was all over the midfield for the Bulldogs registering three caused turnovers and six draw controls. Greer Bireley added a goal and two assists.
 
Detroit Mercy Titans
Detroit Mercy enters their 14th season as a program and their second season in the MAC. The Titans fell to Central Michigan 18-6 on Wednesday in a mid-week matchup. The Titans offense was led by Cat Kopchia who netted two goals against CMU bringing her season totals to eight goals in four games.
 
Senior and All-MAC selection Taylor Cantelon returns for the Titans bringing lots of experience to the table. Cantelon posted 57 draw controls last season which was good for third in the MAC. She also set a school-record for draw controls won in a single game with 16 against Youngstown St. last season.

The Bulldogs will hit the road and travel to Clinton, South Carolina to take on Presbyterian on Wednesday, March 9. First draw is set for 3 p.m.
