Round 1 Results

Butler has three golfers among the Top 10 after the opening day of the Benbow Invitational. That trio leads a Bulldog charge that has the team in second place following Monday's play.

Raymond Sullivan and Damon Dickey each shot two-over 73s on Monday and are part of a group that is tied for fifth individually. They are two shots off the lead.

Sullivan's card included four birdies on the 6,750-yard Jacksonville Beach Golf Club in Florida.

Freshman Weston Guili was one shot behind his teammates after posting a 74 (+3). Henry Quinn and Daniel Tanaka are tied for 23rd after opening-round 79s.

Nick Williams, playing as an individual, is in a tie for 28th after shooting 81.

Butler's team score of 299 (+15) is six shots behind first-round leader Purdue Fort Wayne (293). The Bulldogs are nine shots clear of third-place Eastern Illinois. There are six teams in the field.

The tournament is named in honor of the late Don Benbow, who was inducted into the Butler Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions as a standout football student-athlete, golf and football coach, and his time at Butler as an athletics administrator.

Play concludes Tuesday with a final 18 holes. A 9 a.m. shotgun start is planned.

Live Scoring will be available via GolfStat.
