Butler's
Ally Ross took individual honors at the Benbow Invitational, leading the event wire-to-wire over the last two days in Jacksonville, Fla. Ross led the Bulldogs to the team title as Butler overtook Eastern Michigan on Tuesday.

Ross carded a one-under 70 on Monday and entered Tuesday's final round with a one-shot advantage. She extended her lead throughout the day Tuesday, pulling away from the field for a six-shot win.

Ross registered a second one-under 70 Tuesday to finish the event at two-under 140, which was six shots better than Eastern Michigan's Anna Watson. On Tuesday, Ross had a pair of birdies as part of her round on the 5,913-yard Jacksonville Beach Golf Club in Florida.

Entering the final round in a three-way tie for second and two shots off Eastern Michigan's lead, Butler had the round of the day at 14-over 298. That moved the Bulldogs to the top of the leaderboard at 609 (+41) and one shot better than IUPUI. Eastern Michigan finished third, three shots behind Butler.

Freshman
Katie Steinman shot a 76 (+5) Tuesday and finished in a tie for 17
th at 14-over 156.

Alaina Bowie had three birdies on the front nine and finished with a four-over 75 Tuesday. Coupled with her 83 on Monday, Bowie finished at 158 (+16) and in a tie for 28
th. Her score of 158 mirrored that of teammate
Claire Edwards, who shot 77 Tuesday.

Madalin Small's 79 Tuesday moved her to 159 (+17) overall and in a tie for 32
nd.

The tournament is named in honor of the late Don Benbow, who was inducted into the Butler Athletics Hall of Fame for his contributions as a standout football student-athlete, golf and football coach, and his time at Butler as an athletics administrator.

The Bulldogs will next travel to Louisville, Ky., March 21-22 for a tournament hosted by Cleveland State.
