Final Results

CHICAGO – The Butler men's tennis team fell to DePaul in another 4-3 heartbreaker on Sunday afternoon at the XS Tennis Village.

DePaul won the doubles point, which proved to be the difference as the two teams split the singles matches.

Alvaro Huete Vadillo (6-4, 6-3) and Michael Dickson (6-3, 6-4) got the Bulldogs on the board early with straight set wins at No. 3 and No. 2 singles, respectively. Later, Michael Karr finished off Xavier's Matteo Iaquinto 6-4, 4-6, 6-0 at No. 5 to give Butler a 3-2 lead in the team score.

Both Patrick Joss (No. 4) and Borja Miralles (No. 6) picked up a set in their singles match, but fell in three sets to secure the win for Xavier.

The Bulldogs' next match will be at home against Dayton on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
