 - The Butler women's lacrosse team (5-5) fell on Saturday to #9 Denver, 17-8.
 
How it Happened:
 
Denver got on the board first just a minute into the game on a goal from Lauren Black. A little over a minute later, the Bulldogs responded on a free-position attempt from Greer Bireley. The Pioneers would score four unanswered to close out the first quarter 5-1. 
 
Campbell Connors and Gabryelle Bodine each netted one for the Dawgs in the second quarter. Connors on a free position and Bodine on an unassisted effort. Denver scored six in the second, with Bea Behrins scoring three of the six in the quarter.
 
In the third quarter, the Pioneers outscored the Bulldogs 4-3 as Bea Behrins continued her stellar performance, notching two more. Bodine and Connors scored both goals for the Dawgs, and Ellie Eisenklam and Bireley provided the assists. 
 
The fourth quarter was even, with both teams scoring three in the fourth. Bodine and Bireley scored back-to-back goals for the Bulldogs. Lindsey Schreiber slotted the final goal home for the Dawgs with a little over three minutes left in the game. 
 
Katie McGrath had nine saves on the day.
