The Butler women's tennis team earned the No. 5 seed in the BIG EAST Tournament and will play No. 4 seed DePaul on Friday at 4:30 p.m. in Cayce, S.C., at the Cayce Tennis & Fitness Center.

The Bulldogs finished the regular season with an 8-13 record (1-2 BIG EAST) and are coming off a 4-3 win at Marquette last Saturday to enter the conference tournament with momentum.

Butler and DePaul (7-8, 4-3 BIG EAST) met once earlier this season, as the Blue Demons defeated the Bulldogs 5-2 on Feb. 18 in the Butler Bubble. Delaney Schurhamer and Norah Balthazor took points for the Bulldogs with wins at No. 2 and No. 4 singles, respectively.

The Blue Demons have won the previous four dual matches between the teams, with Butler last beating DePaul on April 7, 2018 (4-3 in the Bubble).
