@ButlerWLacrosse Travels to Connecticut to Face #14 UConn

The Butler women's lacrosse team will travel to Storrs, Connecticut, to take on the #14 Huskies on Saturday. First draw is set for 11 a.m.
 
Bulldog Bits:
 
- 11 new Bulldogs joined the team this season and are a part of one of Butler's strongest recruiting classes in program history
- Campbell Connors has 35 goals and eight assists on the season
- Leah Rubino has eleven goals, five assists, 26 caused turnovers, and 48 draw controls
- Greer Bireley has 11 goals and 30 assists this season
- Lindsey Schreiber has 24 goals, 13 assists, and 41 draw controls this season
- Aleigh Monroe has played 465 minutes between the pipes this season, recording 57 saves
- Katie McGrath has played 291 minutes in goal and made 40 saves
- Campbell Connors had four goals and one assist
- Gabryelle Bodine had two goals and two assists
- Lindsey Schreiber had two goals, one assist, and seven draw controls
- Greer Bireley had three goals and three assists for a six-point game
- Kaley Attaway and Holly Hall each had a goal and two assists
- Ella Squibb had seven draw controls
- Leah Rubino had two goals, four draw controls, and two caused turnovers 
- KK Callaghan and Layla Tattersfield each scored a goal
 
Last Time Out
The Bulldogs fell to the Golden Eagles of Marquette 24-17 on Saturday. The Golden Eagles got things rolling fast with three goals in the first six minutes of the first quarter. The Bulldogs would respond when Campbell Connors found the back of the net off a feed from Gabryelle Bodine. Marquette would score two more before Holly Hall found the back of the net on a pass from Lindsey Schreiber. 
 
Marquette scored seven in the second, and the Bulldogs scored two. In the second, Connors put the Bulldogs on the board, and Greer Bireley scored the second goal in the quarter. Holly Hall assisted Bireley's goal. Marquette took a 13-4 lead into halftime. 
 
The Bulldogs came out on a mission in the second half scoring seven goals in the third. First, Lindsey Schreiber got things started under a minute in off an assist from Bodine. Then, Layla Tattersfield put one in for the Dawgs. The Bulldogs had two women-up goals in the third quarter. Leah Rubino, Kaley Attaway, Connors, Bireley, and Schreiber would all add goals in the third for Butler. 
 
The fourth quarter was even, with both teams scoring six in the final quarter of action. Connors Bodine, Bireley, Rubino, and KK Callaghan netted the goals in the fourth. However, the Bulldog's comeback efforts fell short, and the Golden Eagles captured the 24-17 win. 
 
Scouting the Huskies
The Huskies took down Yale on Wednesday, 20-14. Seniors Grace Coon, Lia LaPrise, and Sydney Watson tallied seven points each against the Yale Bulldogs. Coon had seven goals, LaPrise had five goals and two assists, and Watson had four goals and three assists. Two other Huskies registered goals in the game against Yale. 
 
Julia Ozimek led the Huskies on defense with three ground balls and two caused turnovers. Landyn White has played 786 minutes between the pipes for the Huskies this season. White has registered 147 saves this season. 
 
Up Next
The Bulldogs will host Villanova for Senior Day on Saturday, April 30. First draw is set for noon.
