Final Results
Bloomington, Ind. – Rebecca Collester's record-setting 200m dash was the highlight of the Indiana Invitational meet for the Butler track and field teams at the Billy Hayes Track & Field Complex on Friday and Saturday.
Collester clocked in with a time of 24.20 seconds to edge
Carson Fields' old record of 24.21 set last year. She finished ninth in the field of 33 on Friday afternoon.
The Bulldogs set many personal bests in distance races, including
Andrew Taylor (3:53.26) and
Carter Schorr (3:54.67) in the 1500m run and
Nick Doud (30:38.70) in the 10,000m. Doud's time landed him in fourth in the race.
In women's distance races,
Abby Fostveit (4:47.22) in the 1500m and
Quinn Shanahan (17:08.52) in the 5000m also set personal records.
On Saturday, Butler had strong races in the 800m from
Matthew Wigelsworth (1:49.02) and
Chandler McGaha (1:50.28) to finish third and sixth, respectively, in the field of 51.
Liam Dennis finished second in his section with a personal best time of 1:51.79 seconds.
Collester (56.79),
Erin Haugh (58.76) and
Reagan Kelly (58.81) all had their best races in the 400m dash on Saturday afternoon.
Isaac Kane posted a time of 10.62 in the 100m dash to finish sixth in the prelims. Kane teamed up with
Joey Gareis,
Ben Bradley and
Jacob Uhl in the 4x100 relay to clock in at 41.47 and finish fourth in the race.
The Bulldogs will next compete in the Sycamore Open on Saturday in Terre Haute, Ind.
