Scouting #13 Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish are nationally ranked with a 16-5 record and 5-4 in conference play. Notre Dame has won the last four games and are 2-1 at home. Carter Putz leads the club with 25 runs scored and a .372 batting average. Ryan Cole also has impressive numbers with a .329 BA that includes four doubles, three home runs, and 14 RBIs.
Notre Dame will throw right-handed Radek Birkholz on Tuesday night. The 6-0 freshman has no decisions to date on the mound with a 1.59 ERA. He has six strikeouts and seven walks spread out over 5.2 innings of work. The RHP came from Valor Christian High School, where he tossed 35.2 innings with a 6-0 record and 0.79 ERA with 71 strikeouts in his senior season. Birkholz was named the Colorado 2021 Gatorade Player of the Year.
McDaniel on the Mound
Cole McDaniel will make the seventh start of his Bulldog career on Tuesday in South Bend. The freshman has tossed 24.1 innings this year. His first start came at Murray State on Feb. 19. His last start was at Bellarmine on March 29.

Travis Holt and Ryan O'Halloran have started in all 28 games for the Bulldogs. Holt has led off for BU in every game while starting at shortstop. O'Halloran is primarily in the lineup at third base.
Hit a Homer
Billy Wurch hit his second home run of the season against Eastern Illinois on Sunday.
Keep Hitting Holt
Travis Holt leads the team and ranks tenth in the BIG EAST with 36 hits. He has 12 multi-hit games for the Bulldogs.
Better Defensively
The Bulldogs did not commit any errors during their weekend series against Eastern Illinois.
Up Next
Butler will begin BIG EAST play this weekend against the Villanova Wildcats. They will play a three-game series in Villanova Ballpark at Plymouth on Friday at 3 PM, Saturday at 1 PM, and Sunday at 12 PM.
