Villanova, Pa - Villanova beat Butler 13-3 on Friday afternoon. Cole Patten was credited with the Game 1 win over BU.
 
The Bulldogs got the first tally on the board in the first inning. 
Ryan O'Halloran singled to right field (RBI), 
Billy Wurch advanced to third and 
Aaron Steinhart scored.
 
Villanova would respond in the third with a three run homer to take the lead 3-1.
 
In the fourth, Connor Hale singled to right field bringing in AJ Hansen moving the score to 4-1.
 
Villanova scored five runs in the seventh and four in the eighth to extend their lead to 13-1.
 
In the ninth, 
Kollyn All and 
Nick Ortega scored for the Bulldogs.
 
Butler is back in action tomorrow at 1 p.m. for Game 2 of the series.
