@ButlerUBaseball Wins 6-4 over Seton Hall in Season Finale

INDIANAPOLIS – Head Coach Dave Schrage capped off a brilliant coaching career with a victory at Bulldog Park on Saturday afternoon. The Bulldogs defeated the Seton Hall Pirates by the final score of 6-4. Travis Holt and Robbie McCargar highlighted the game with home runs for Butler.

The Pirates scored three runs in the top of the first inning, but momentum would shift back to the home team in the bottom of one after a two-run home run from Travis Holt to left field. Holt would come back to the plate to tie the game at 3-3 in the bottom of the second inning with a single to center that scored Kyle Van Liere.

The Bulldogs used a sacrifice fly from Kollyn All to take a slim 4-3 lead into the third inning. That advantage would stick until the seventh when the Pirates scored to even the game at 4-4.

The difference on Saturday came in the bottom of the seventh inning. Robbie McCargar dialed in on a two-two pitch and hit a huge home run over the scoreboard in right field to help Butler win the game 6-4.

Alex Voss earned the win on the mound and John MacCauley came in for the save.

Coach Schrage ended his six-year stay at Butler with 133 wins, the fourth most in program history. A head coach for seven universities over the course of 34 seasons, Schrage retires with 865 career wins!
