Â
Two Bulldogs earned All-BIG EAST honors for the 2022 women's lacrosse season, as chosen by the BIG EAST coaches and announced by the conference on Wednesday, May 4.
Campbell Connors and
Lindsey Schreiber were both named to the All-BIG EAST Second Team.Â
Â
Connors and Schreiber are the first Bulldogs to be named to an all-conference team in program history. Butler finished the season with a program-record six wins this season, and Connors and Schreiber were pivotal in the team's success.Â
Â
Connors, a junior from New Canaan, Connecticut, was selected to the BIG EAST Weekly Honor Roll three times this season. She scored 42 goals and added ten assists while setting the school record for most goals in a season. The previous record was 28 goals which
Ashley Guerra held since 2019. Connors had a .575 shooting percentage and scored in every game this season except for one. Three times this season, Connors tied a school record with five goals in a game and scored multiple goals in every game except for three. Connors finished fourth in the conference in scoring (42), ninth in points per game (3.47), and tenth in shots per game (4.87).Â
Â
Schreiber, a senior from Ambler, Pennsylvania, scored 25 goals and had 16 assists this season. Schreiber tallied a goal in 13 of the teams' 15 games this season and started in all 15 contests. Schreiber was versatile this year, recording 48 draw controls which was a career-high after tallying two total in her previous three seasons. In four separate games this season, Schreiber scored a hat-trick, and she tied her career goal mark in just one season. In addition, she had a .510 shooting percentage.Â
Â
Connors and Schreiber's all-conference selections are the first in program history. In addition, the Bulldogs had a record seven conference awards throughout this season.
