INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler Bulldogs will play at Purdue this week before traveling to Omaha to face the Creighton Bluejays this weekend. Tuesday's matchup against the Boilermakers will stream on BIG+ at 6 PM.

Scouting Purdue
The Boilermakers are 26-16 this year with a 12-7 record at Alexander Field. The 2022 team opened the year with 15-straight wins. They swept South Dakota State, Princeton, Longwood and Bellarmine to stay undefeated. Purdue's first setback came in extra innings at Illinois State on March 17.

The Boilers most recently lost a weekend series at Iowa to move their Big Ten record to 7-9. After hosting the 'Dawgs on Tuesday, PU will travel to Evanston this weekend to play Northwestern.

Highlighting the batting order for PU is senior shortstop Evan Albrecht. A .373 hitter, Albrecht leads Purdue with 57 hits. He has 11 doubles, one triple and one home run for 29 RBI. Cam Thompson is the team home run leader with 10 and Curtis Washington leads the club with 48 runs scored.

Once Purdue players get on base, the Bulldogs will have to keep a close watch on them. The Boilermakers have stolen 99 bases over 42 games. Washington and Mike Bolton Jr. are tied for the team lead with 26 steals each.

Five Year Anniversary
Butler no-hit Purdue on May 10, 2017 at Alexander Field. Five pitchers combined on the seventh recorded no-hitter in Butler history as the Bulldogs downed Purdue 4-2. Sam Hubbe (3.0), Quentin Miller (2.0), Luke Johnson (1.2), Jack Pilcher (0.1) and Ottavio Dattolo (2.0) were all part of the no-hitter. Purdue was able to score two runs off five hit by pitches, two walks and a Butler error.

Last Week
Aaron Steinhart hit .556 against Xavier last week, collecting five hits in nine at-bats. The Butler designated hitter scored two runs and walked two times, raising his on-base percentage to .667. The BU slugger has now played in 79 games in his career and heads to Purdue with 79 career hits.

Long Ball
James Gargano, Billy Wurch, Kollyn All and Quentin Markle all hit home runs against Xavier over the weekend. Gargano hit a solo shot in the first game of the series to record his fourth homer of the year. He went 4-for-4 in that game to tie his season-high hit total. Wurch hit a two-run home run in game two and Markle added a three-run shot in the same game. It was Markle's first homer of his collegiate career. All would follow by going deep against the Musketeers in game three. All four home runs were hit to left field.

Streaks
Travis Holt has a five-game hitting streak heading into Tuesday's game. He is batting .329 in road games this year (21 games). Aaron Steinhart is just behind him with a four-game hit streak.
