The Butler women's soccer team is excitedly keeping tabs on teammate Talia Sommer, who is representing her home country of Israel in 2023 World Cup qualifying matches. The freshman started and played for 77 minutes in Thursday's 2-0 win over Bulgaria.
 
Sommer will also be available for Israel's upcoming match vs. Serbia on Tuesday, Sept. 6. Prior to the two matches in the current stage, she had notched seven caps for Israel, including three starts.
 
The freshman midfielder will return to compete with the Bulldogs' squad shortly. Sommer started the first three matches of her Butler career before leaving for international play.
