Butler's Jesse Hamlin, after a stellar performance in his 2022 season debut, has been named the BIG EAST Male Athlete of the Week. The conference office made the announcement Tuesday, Sept. 13.
 
Hamlin raced to a third-place finish at the Spiked Shoe Invitational Friday at Penn State. He ran the 5.2-mile course in 25:08.4. Hamlin led Butler to a second-place finish in an eight-team field. The 22^nd-ranked Bulldogs finished runner-up to No. 21 Syracuse.
 
The Bulldogs are next in action Sept. 30 at the Joe Piane Invitational, hosted by Notre Dame.
