The Fourth Annual Bethany Moore Invitational served as the season opener for a majority of the Bulldogs as the team traveled to Muncie, Ind., for the Ball State-hosted event Friday and Saturday.

The flighted singles and doubles event featured Butler alongside the host Cardinals, Dayton, Oakland, and Milwaukee.

Emma Beavin and Chase Metcalf each won their respective opening match in the B singles draw before falling in the semifinals.

Metcalf teamed with Veronika Bruetting for a win in doubles play as well.

The Bulldogs are back in action Oct. 14, traveling to Texas for the SMU Invitational.
