Men's and Women's Results
The Joe Piane Invitational hosted by Notre Dame annually features some of the nation's best teams, and 2022 was no different as the Bulldogs as a team and individually posted strong showings.

THE BUTLER MEN: The No. 24 Butler men posted a strong sixth-place finish against an elite national field.
Barry Keane's Top 10 performance included a time of 23:30.2 over the five-mile course.
Jesse Hamlin came in 16
th at 23:44.0.
Host Notre Dame (81), Tennessee (104), Alabama (126) and Montana State (144) took the top four spots in the team competition. Notre Dame (No. 14), Alabama (No. 25) and Montana State (No. 22) are ranked nationally this week.
Butler came in ahead of No. 27 Michigan and both Florida State and North Carolina State, which are receiving votes in this week's national poll.
Alabama's Victor Kiprop won the race in 23:16.5.

Forrester, the 2021 Mountain East Conference Freshman of the Year in Cross Country from the University of Charleston, made his Butler debut with a Top 25 finish.
Both Byrne and Minnette rebounded from falls earlier in the race to post respective strong results.

THE BUTLER WOMEN: The women placed 14
th among a 20-team field that included No. 1 North Carolina State, No. 3 New Mexico, No. 8 host Notre Dame, and No. 10 Alabama.
NC State took the win with a score of 55, just ahead of New Mexico (68) and Alabama (70). Ten of the teams that finished ahead of the Bulldogs are nationally ranked or receiving votes in this week's national coaches poll.
Mia Beckham paced the Butler contingent in a time of 16:51.5, finishing 40
th.
Katelyn Tuohy of NC State won the race in a time of 15:50.0.

Angelina Ellis, running unattached after exhausting her cross country eligibility, was fourth in the open race, crossing the line in 16:53.6.
UP NEXT: The teams next compete at the NCAA Pre-Nationals race Oct. 15 in Stillwater, Okla., which will be the host course for the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships.
