@ButlerXCTF Dominate the Distance Races to Wrap up the McGravy Memorial

This weekend, Butler traveled south to Lexington, Ky., to compete at the Rod McGravy Memorial.
 
The meet, hosted by the University of Kentucky Friday and Saturday in the Nutter Field House, featured 17 total teams including Ohio State, Tulane and Eastern Kentucky.
 
Jack McMahon and Will Minnette got the team rolling in the men's 3000 meters by taking the top two spots on the podium. McMahon won the race at 8:11.19 with Minnette right by his side in second at 8:11.97.
 
Ryan Adkins and Sean Robertson followed in sixth and seventh at 8:22.46 and 8:23.43, respectively. All four of the runners earned new personal-best times.
 
The women's team also finished with three new lifetime-bests in the 3000 meters. Abby Olson led the way in second at 9:46.31. Following Olson were teammates Lexi Affolter and Ashley Learn in sixth and seventh at 10:06.59 and 10:06.86, respectively.
 
Other notable finishes:
  • For the second week in a row, Drew Herman finished third in the high jump with a height of 2.00 meters
  • Morgan Walsh took fifth in the women's 600 meters at 1:36.80
  • Joey Gareis placed sixth in the men's long jump with a distance of 7.10 meters for a new personal best
  • Karmen Koch finished eighth in the high jump with a height of 1.55 meters
  • Jack Elder crossed the finish line in eighth for the 60-meter hurdles with a time of 8.41
  • Edouard Morin-Luzuy and Andrew Taylor placed 11th and 12th out of a field of 37 runners in the men's mile at 4:15.94 and 4:16.75
 
The Bulldogs will travel back to the Hoosier state to compete at the Gladstein Invitational in Bloomington, Ind., next weekend.
