Nine @ButlerXCTF Athletes Earn Spots on Podium at Gladstein Invitational

Butler headed south down I-69 to compete at the Gladstein Invitational on Friday and Saturday in Bloomington, IN. 


Indiana University hosted the meet inside Gladstein Fieldhouse that featured nine total teams, including University of Cincinnati and Miami University.

After earning the Big East Athlete of the Week honors last week, Drew Herman continued his success in the long jump. Herman placed second clearing the bar at a height of 1.94 meters. 

Bennett DuBois and Michael Dunagan made their debuts in the men's 800-meter finals finishing third and fourth at 1:55.14 and 1:57.20. 

On the women's side, Niki Ezeh, competing unattached, finished with top podium performances in the 60m hurdles and the long jump. Ezeh placed second in the women's 60-meter hurdles at 8.51. On the field, she earned a third-place finish in the long jump with a distance of 5.64 meters. 

Rounding out the top finishers were the women's 4x400 relay team of Abby Brennan, Jenna Doezema, Reagan Kelly and Grace Stedge. The group crossed the finish line in third at 3:57.51. 

Other notable finishes:
  • Gavin Cougle took home a third-place finish in the men's 200 meters with a time of 22.27
  • Ashlyn Minton placed third in the 3000 meters finals at 10:13.47. 
  • Max Wilhelm finished fourth in the men's 60-meter hurdles at 8.58
  • Karmen Koch placed fourth in the women's 600 meters 1:39.01
  • Katherine Olsen finished fifth in the women's 800-meter finals at 2:12.52
  • Elsa Rusthoven earned a fifth-place finish in the 3000-meter finals at 10:16.76
The Bulldogs will return to Bloomington next week for the Indiana University Relays from Jan. 27- 28.
