INDIANAPOLIS – The Butler swim team competed against IUPUI over the weekend in downtown Indianapolis.
Sadie Brown was selected as the Butler "Swimmer of the Meet" by head coach
Maurice Stewart. Brown won the 200 Fly and the 400 IM at the IUPUI Natatorium.
Brown's 2:08.59 and 4:33.02 winning times in the 200 Fly and 400 IM placed the Freshman in the fifth and third spot on Butler's all-time record books for those respective events.
Allie Carmichael finished right behind Brown in the 400 IM and posted a time of 4:37.99 which saw her take the sixth spot in the school's record book.Â
Carmichael's success continued in the 200 Back, winning the event with a 2:15.00.
Sophie Resner touched the wall just after Carmichael at 2:16.49, taking the top two spots for the Bulldogs. Resner also led Butler in the 100 Back and her 1:00.91 time was good enough for a third-place finish.Â
Butler's best event was the 200 Free.
Emily Landwehr,
Jamie Gindorf, and
Elizabeth Naylor swept the top three spots. Landwehr won at 1:57.80 while Naylor and Gindorf rounded out the two and three positions at 1:58.90 and 2:03.73.Â
The Bulldog's swept the top two spots again in the 200 Breast.
Kate Schilling won the event with her time of 2:29.36.
Ava McGonigle placed second posting a 2:33.40.

Other events saw multiple Bulldogs earn third place finishes, starting with the 200 Medley Relay team of
Gianna Leffler, Landwehr, Schilling, and
Olivia Stotts who swam a 1:52.42. Stotts finished the 50 Back at 28.90 and
Abigail Roberts rounded out the third-place results in the 50 Butterfly and 50 Free with 26.85 and 24.85 times.Â
Up next for the Bulldogs is the 14
th annual Butler Invitational held at Fishers High School on Sunday, Jan. 29.Â
