Butler Women's Golf Tied for Seventh After Opening 36 Holes in Dayton

A congested leaderboard has Butler tied for seventh entering Tuesday's final 18 at the Dayton Flyer Invitational.
 
Butler's 36-hole total of 598 (+38) is just five shots out of second place, which is held by host Dayton. The University of Indianapolis has the team lead at 16-over 576. Dayton (593; +33) is followed closely by Loyola Chicago (594), Bellarmine (597), IUPUI (597), Toledo (597), and then both Butler and Western Michigan at 598. There are a total of 11 teams in the field.
 
Sophomore Kelli Scheck is the leading Bulldog after Monday's play. She is tied for 14th at seven-over 147. Her afternoon round of 73 on the par-70, 5,937-yard NCR Country Club North Course included 16 pars.
 
Madalin Small, playing as an individual for the Bulldogs, is tied for 20th at 149 (+9). She is followed by teammates Katie Steinman and Cybil Stillson, who are part of a group tied for 23rd at 10-over 150. Lily Celentano is just one shot behind them.
 
Ohio State's Kailie Vongsaga holds the lead entering Tuesday's final round. After rounds of 71 and 70 Monday, her total of one-over 141 is one shot better than three golfers who are tied for second at 142. Ohio State has several players in the field competing as individuals.
 
A final 18 holes, featuring a 10 a.m. shotgun start, are slated for Tuesday. Live Scoring will be available via Golf Genius. Fan should utilize the GGID of UDWOMEN2023 to follow along.
