CRAWFORDSVILLE – The Butler swim team was in action over the weekend, raising money for cancer research. The Bulldogs went to the Crawfordsville High School Natatorium along with Wabash College to help raise over $8000 at a Swim Across America Event.
"What a great opportunity for our two swim teams to come together to raise money for cancer research, and to help individuals all across America fight and beat cancer," Head Coach
Maurice Stewart stated. "Both teams had a great time during the event! We want to thank all the donors, organizers, and student-athletes for their time, effort, facility donation, and money to make our "Swim to Fight Cancer" fundraising event a big success!"
Every 15 minutes, 50 Americans are diagnosed with cancer. Therefore, the Bulldogs and Little Giants used a 15-minute theme swim practice to have their student-athletes choose from doing 15-200's, 15-100's, and some other fun mixed relays during the event.
Together, they used donations to top $8000 for their Swim to Fight Cancer fundraiser. Swim Across America will now pool together dollars and grants to fund clinical trials and cancer research.
