Butler Women's Golf Tied for Seventh After Opening Day of the Loyola Parkinson Invitational

The Bulldogs are tied for seventh on The Loyola Parkinson Invitational team leaderboard after the first day of play.
 
Butler and host Loyola are tied at 640 (+64) after 36 holes Monday. North Dakota State (603), Cal Baptist (606) and Bowling Green (615) hold the top three spots among the 12-team field.
 
Lily Celentano led the Butler effort Monday. She is tied for 19th at 157 (+13). Teammate Cybil Stillson is one shot behind her, tied for 21st. 
 
The 36-hole lead belongs to Sofia Chabon of Cal Baptist. Rounds of 72 and 71 on the 6,041-yard The Merit Club course in Libertyville, Ill., have her at one-under 143. She has a five-shot lead over teammate Pusanisa Ekkantrong (148).
 
The 54-hole tournament concludes with a final 18 Tuesday, featuring an 8:30 a.m. (Central) shotgun start. Live scoring will be available via GolfStat with a link on ButlerSports.com.
