Horne shot a two-under 69 in the morning round before carding a 73 in the afternoon. He is at even-par 142. Horne got off to a hot start in early chilly conditions, shooting five-under over his first six holes Monday morning. That included an eagle 2 on the 434-yard, par-4 12
th hole. Horne's 36 holes Tuesday on the 7,245-yard Ackerman-Allen course included a total of seven birdies to go along with his eagle.

Valentin Peugnet of Illinois State holds a two-shot lead entering Tuesday's final round. Peugnet used rounds of 67 and 66 to post a day-one total of nine-under 133.

Illinois State and Northern Illinois are tied for the team-lead at eight-under 560. Nebraska is six shots back in third. The Bulldogs shot 583 (+15) over the two rounds Tuesday. Seven teams in the field are ranked among the Top 100 in the Golfweek national rankings.
