Horne Among the Top 20 Entering Final 18 of Purdue Fall Invitational

Sophomore Will Horne's Monday performance has him among the Top 20 after the opening day of the Purdue Fall Invitational in West Lafayette.
 
As a team, the Bulldogs stand in 11th entering Tuesday's play.
 
Horne shot a two-under 69 in the morning round before carding a 73 in the afternoon. He is at even-par 142. Horne got off to a hot start in early chilly conditions, shooting five-under over his first six holes Monday morning. That included an eagle 2 on the 434-yard, par-4 12th hole. Horne's 36 holes Tuesday on the 7,245-yard Ackerman-Allen course included a total of seven birdies to go along with his eagle.
 
Valentin Peugnet of Illinois State holds a two-shot lead entering Tuesday's final round. Peugnet used rounds of 67 and 66 to post a day-one total of nine-under 133.
 
Illinois State and Northern Illinois are tied for the team-lead at eight-under 560. Nebraska is six shots back in third. The Bulldogs shot 583 (+15) over the two rounds Tuesday. Seven teams in the field are ranked among the Top 100 in the Golfweek national rankings.
 
A final 18 holes Tuesday will conclude the 54-hole event. Live scoring will be available via GolfStat with a link posted on ButlerSports.com.

Additionally, two Bulldogs are part of the field at the Wabash Invitational at Broadmoor Country Club in Indianapolis. Competing as individuals, Jack Wilcox (+10; 154) and Henry Quinn (+11; 155) are tied for 39th and 44th, respectively after 36 holes of play Monday. The final round is scheduled for Tuesday.
